Pride Goes Before Destruction, Proverbs 16:18

I have noticed quite a few bumper stickers that talk about Pride. This pride is usually focused on our nation and ourselves. When ever I see one of these I can not help but think of all the admonishments in scripture concerning pride. Actually the sentiment should be quite different when you consider the following verses.

Amos 3:6 If a ram's horn is blown in a city, will the people not also tremble? If there is a calamity in a city, has Yahweh not also done it?

Jeremiah 16:10-12 And it shall be, when you declare to this people all these words, and they shall say to you, Why has Yahweh pronounced all this great evil against us? Or what is our iniquity, or what is our sin that we have committed against Yahweh our God?
11 Then you shall say to them, Because your fathers have forsaken Me, says Yahweh, and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have worshiped them, and have forsaken Me, and have not kept My Law.
12 And you have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, you walk each one after the stubbornness of his evil heart, without listening to Me;

Proverbs 16:7 When a man's ways please Yahweh, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

2 Chronicles 7:14 if My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

The Friday after the Septemer 11th event saw one of the most obvious demonstrations of how far this polytheistic nation has gone away from the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Almost every station broadcast the appeal to all the gods from a church building in Washington D.C. Everyone who was anyone was there calling upon their false god. If you do not accept the Son, you do not have the Father.

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Acts 4:12
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Luke 19:27
But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

Notes:
1 "the LORD" has been replaced with Yahweh which is much closer to the original YHVH than "the LORD".
